Signs You’re More Stressed Than You Realize

According to the American Institute of Stress, there are different kinds of stress individuals faces throughout their lives.

No one is exempt from stressing out about work, relationships or other things. The habit, however, becomes worrying when your day-to-day life is affected.

The following are some of the signs that you’re more stressed than you realize.

Frequent Mood Changes

Are your mood swings giving you a whiplash? You start off the day feeling excited and experience moodiness, self-doubt, and sadness by the end of it.

This is a sign that your body and brain are being severely taxed. If your doctor has ruled out physical problems, it may indicate to above-average stress level.

Lack of Sound Night-Time Sleep

Have you been counting sheep to a thousand and still can’t fall asleep? Or do you have trouble enjoying proper REM sleep? Stress-induced mental exhaustion during the day makes it hard to have uninterrupted, peaceful sleep at night.

The cycle continues when the next day you’re tired, sleep deprived, and unsurprisingly, stressed. Initiate a relaxing bedtime routine which can help your brain relax and ease off to deep sleep.

You Have Trouble Thinking Clearly

Building on the previous point, lack of quality sleep or inconsistency in your sleep patterns may dramatically impact your concentration levels. The brain’s memory center—the hippocampus—may shrink when you experience too much stress, possibly leading to dementia.
This is the ideal opportunity to consult with a certified brain health coach, Luz Jaramillo to improve mindfulness and experience lasting stress relief.
